Update

So far this year I’ve been focusing on:
(1)
Completing Through the Valley of the Shadow of Life, a novel based, to a significant degree, on my experiences in one of the most pivotal years of my life –1989 – near the end of which I began recovering most of my memories of having been sexually abused by my father when I was a child.

Another angle would be to say Through the Valley of the Shadow of Life is a story about love and some of the things – such as suppression / oppression, of  self and otherwise, and insufficient present moment awareness – that can make love’s actualization difficult or sometimes even impossible, whether long-term or even “just” in the present moment, which, after all, amounts to eternity, being as immersion in the present moment is, after all, to the degree it approaches totality (which it sometimes actually reaches?) an immersion in timelessness; an “escape” from time . . .

I’ve now completed the final (pre-beta-reader) draft of Through the Valley of the Shadow of Life and am receiving feedback from beta readers. If you think you might be interested in being a beta reader, please click on the link for more details and to take a look at the first 20% or so of the novel before deciding.

(2)
Starting work on a new novel.

(3)
Writing, revising, and submitting poetry.

(4)
Completing a revamp of my website (mostly done).

Focused On Previously But Then (Mostly) Shelved / Moved to the Back (Back) Burner:
(5)
Notes from My Undergrounds – an experimental blog of fictional content by fictional characters.

(6)
Twitter (@jbwriting): although when I started Twitter I was relatively active and I’ve found it gratifying to experience solidarity / commonality / resonance with other CSA survivors and supporters of survivors, I’ve ended up being able to devote only a minimal amount of time to Twitter, week to week, and often none at all, given my other writing priorities, although I may at some point change back to a more active level of participation.
